No problema!

135_toilette_chi In many places around the world, particularly in former colonies, it is very common to see signs displayed in multiple languages. Instead of wanting to erase any evidence of the oppressor’s language, they seem to realize the folly in doing so. Not only does the “other” language preserve the history and aid with tourism, it also helps the residents remain at least somewhat bilingual. Contrast that with the USA, where over the years attempts have been made to cease bilingual education and declare English as the “official” language. Instead of forcing uniformity, we should be embracing and reinforcing our rich cultural diversity.
