My sister’s keeper

Growing up in the developed world, it might be hard to get your head around kids raising other kids, but in many parts of the world, this is the norm. Families tend to be bigger and resources scarcer, making it necessary for older siblings to play a bigger role in taking care of the younger kids. Imagine the indignation a typical 6 year old American would express at being expected to change the diapers of his 6 month old brother. But the plus side is that siblings who help to raise each other tend to develop an exceptionally close bond that lasts a lifetime.
