Priceless

Priceless is a word we usually hear in conjunction with material things like jewelry and artwork. Yet the only thing that is truly priceless is a human being. Regardless of where you live, what you do, how you look, what god you worship, or how much money you have, every single one of us who shares this Earth is a unique individual and therefore irreplaceable.

While this has always been true, it appeared to have gotten lost in recent years in a world that increasingly seemed to judge the value of people by the value of the things they owned. One of the positive byproducts of the economic meltdown is the fact that many of us are reassessing what constitutes value and rearranging our priorities accordingly. And one of the things that is becoming clear to us is that nothing – including all the gold and diamonds in the world — could be more precious than the people in our lives.
