Strength in numbers

There’s a certain comfort in numbers, whether it’s a group of kids who dress in a similar fashion or fans of a particular sports team who wear the team colors.  People like to feel they’re a part of something.  These boats are just a few of the hundreds of fishing boats you’ll see in the port town of Essaouira, Morocco.  Every single one of them is the exact same shade of blue, and almost identical shape and size.  Since fishing is such an important line of work in this area, having a blue boat instantly identifies you as part of this critical industry.  Birds of a feather really do flock together.  This same mentality governs our fashion sense.  As much as we strive for individuality, there’s a certain comfort in identifying with people of similar style.
